Kids and parents throng in at the entrance to grab their tickets for a live on stage retelling of the classic hawk-and-hen tale. Hand-crafted puppet props and sponsor’s gifts were handed out at the gate, setting the tone for a memorable event.

The evening kicked off with foot-stomping traditional tunes that got everyone singing along! Live strings from the one-man cricket band and a chorus of familiar lullabies turned the venue into a mini-festival of sound. From the rocking tunes of “Kolokolo Krii”, right through the hopping “Korkordene” to the chants of “Nkitinkitin_kiti”, it was an unforgettable experience for all.

And the interactive bit? A resounding Chef's kiss! Parents and children were drawn into the sessions interspersed with Q&As with gifts and giveaways from sponsors to deserving kids who listened, laughed and equally learning from the stage unfolds.

Team Parables turned the classic ‘Hawk and Hen’ tale into a living, breathing stage spectacle that had kids and a few daring parents leaping from their seats. When Miss Korks, the hen tried to beat the drum meant for the hawk, a troupe of wide-eyed children burst onto the stage, shouting her arrest! Their spontaneous “arrest” turned the scene into a joyous scramble of giggles, high-fives, and impromptu choreography—proof that the tale’s wit hit home faster than a drum roll.

After the chaos settled, Agyapa Kweku Ananse, the narrator, stepped forward, unraveling the twin lessons that lingered long after the lights dimmed: - Laziness never wins* – the hen’s shortcut to hard work almost cost her the rhythm of the story. - Read before you sign* – a nod to the old adage of checking every “contract” before jumping in.

Families and kids walked away with thrills and glee with sponsor banded toy parcels from

lets be kids, ‘indomie’ packs and ‘Yomi’ drinks. Not to forget a cross section of the kids meeting Ananse’s family digitally, thanks to the AR exhibit from ‘Afrologic solutions’!

The event was a hit, and in the end, this wasn't just a show – it was a full-blown folklore fiesta that had kids (and kids-at-heart) screaming with delight!

A big shout out to the event’s sponsors and media partners for making this Heritage edition a true success.
